01. The Vordun
I had to start this travel journal by visiting one of the most inspiring, creative builds that we collectively have the pleasure to enjoy.
The Vordun Gallery plays an important part in my experience, and is my first post because it inspired my never-ending wanderlust and quest to find the most creatively built and cultivated spaces in SL. It's the first establishment in SL that I proudly and deeply support because of what it gives to the community. It's the museum that virtual museums in our real life space aspire to create. It's honestly that beautiful and awe-inspiring, and is the perfect place to be in the moment, soaking in not only the art, but the atmosphere.
Let me share- take a look at my favorite exhibit:
The Monet exhibit at the Vordun allows you to immerse yourself in the imagery of Claude Monet, with informative cards near each piece of art that details the history. I've spent hours here, sitting on this very bench and enjoying the work of my favorite artist. As an added bonus, you can pick up some of Monet's work in the gift shop (with the comfort to know that all art was acquired and shared through open access policies).
One of my other favorite exhibits is this one:
The artwork, the imagery, and the way the experience flows makes me feel like I'm in the Met. I love that this experience is here in SL for all to enjoy.
I'm always so sad to leave the Vordun, and with new art pieces and an iced pumpkin spice latte in tow, I commit myself to a monthly visit.
If you're looking for a rainy day experience that's full of beautiful energy and creativity, spend some time at the Vordun Museum and Gallery. And be sure to support the museum, to keep this experience one that we can love through the years.
